● Access to the Kukkiwon website
To inquire about Taekwondo Dan certification, first access the Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters website.
The Kukkiwon homepage can be searched through keyword search on portals such as Naver, Daum, and Google.
● Click the link [Lookup Items]
If you have access to the homepage, click the [Search Items] link in the Issuance Service category.
● Enter personal information
It is mandatory to enter the name and resident registration number information to inquire about the certificate of relics. When entering your resident registration number, enter only numbers without ‘-‘.
If you have entered your personal information correctly, click the [Search] button.
● Taekwondo Dan certificate confirmation
If you have entered your personal information correctly, the search result will be displayed in a pop-up window.
The dan certificate search results include information such as photo/name/resident registration number/current pum dan. Taekwondo dan certification can only be checked for promotion and dan examination results within one year.
[2] Taekwondo Poom vs Dan Difference
Poom and Dan are classified based on the age of 15.
1st to 3rd ranks become dan when they turn 15 years old, and 4th rank becomes dan when they turn 18. The 4th rank is determined by dan based on the age of 18.
Poom is composed of 1st to 4th ranks, and dan is composed of 1st to 9th ranks.
If the holder of the current 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rank is over 15 years of age, he or she can replace it with a single certificate if desired. However, for 4th grade students, you must be over 18 years of age and have completed the 4th grade 4th degree conversion training.
The low dan refers to 1st to 4th and 1st to 5th dan, and the Kukkiwon Promotion Poom/Dan Practical Test is entrusted to 17 provincial and provincial Taekwondo associations through the Korea Taekwondo Association.
High dan refers to 6th dan or higher, and the promotion screening for domestic high dan (6th to 9th dan) is directly supervised by Kukkiwon.
All candidates must be promoted, definite and out of age. However, considering that you are an early Taekwondo practitioner, if you started from Poom, you will be given the benefit of reducing the age of promotion up to 5th Dan.
The 10th dan is awarded through special deliberation or recommendation without examination, and in many cases, it is promoted with a posthumous post upon the death of a 9th dan with great merit.
